The concept of the ‘The Gin Judge’ combines my personal love for gin and my work life as a Solicitor and aspiring Judge.
I spent the early stages of my career working in the hospitality industry, predominately for the Goodwood Estate in West Sussex. It was actually when working in the Dukes Box at their race course, that I fell in love with gin. Still to this day, I am utterly blown away by the gin cocktails which I had the pleasure of sampling. Two incredible bartenders had been flown over for the event, all the way from Dubai! My only reservation of the day was that I might never taste anything like it again… how wrong was I.
Since then, my personal gin collection has grown to approximately 120 bottles. If I’m not drinking coffee to survive Solicitor life, then you can find me with a gin in hand. A huge part of this is about blogging and reviewing gin on my Instagram account, but I am also an advocate for gin events including Junipalooza, Gin Live, Gin to My Tonic and Sussex Gin Festival. Further to this, I am making it my mission to visit as many distilleries as I can in the spare time that I have. I have also had the pleasure of attending a few gin schools along the way too! It’s a brilliant way to gage the passion behind the the gin brand and hear their unique stories first hand.
It’s a journey that started out in 2015, made it’s way onto social media in 2019 and continues to grow…
